       Attack of the Birthday

    This is in response to
    Surprise, Surprise - A Featured_Grownups writing prompt.
We have a habit at the house...on weekends, we have between one and eight friends over. If there is either an upcoming or a just-passed birthday in store for one of the people present, we get ourselves a cake, plunk a simple [has to be less than $10] item in it [sticky with frosting] - and put humor in it.

Example: Twolf has a birthday. For a few weeks, there was one song, Smile dk's Butterfly, being passed around the house. Picture, if you will, a tough SOB alongside other tough SOBs, working landscaping jobs and heavy labor. Rather than singing tunes like Steppenwolf or Nickelback tunes or the like, one member of the group has this number burned in his brain:

You can see how funny it actually is, right?

So, the birthday cake presented by the group to him:

    Gotta love it, right?

Another one...galpal of mine [and would-be activist] had heard about a story involving marriage equality, and had this one sent to her - which, of course, she shared in the house...

    Story:
Riki "Garfunkel" Lindhome and Kate "Oates" Micucci sing a pro-gay marriage song in response to a Pat Robertson quote that legalizing gay marriage would lead to legalizing sex with ducks.

Note: she had also started complaining that no one was to send her *anything* for her B-day - and Twolf forced the group to promise not to buy anything....

...and, with that, of course, the group presented:

By the way the note states:
    Joz:
By the way, I said "they" may not get you anything for your B-day - but I didn't say anything about me.

    Mybad...

Yeah...we've a weird sense of humor...but it's all in good fun...

To understand the whole "weird music" thing, see

    Sorry I haven't been around...

    - which shows other examples...

Again: this is in response to
    Surprise, Surprise - A Featured_Grownups writing prompt.

    You can answer it too...
